Originally from the High Plains region of Kansas, I have traveled extensively across the United States as well as several foreign countries.
I eventually returned to Kansas, receiving a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University. Over time, I have worked with Architects and Engineers across the United States
.
When time permits, I am actively gardening, browsing weekend art festivals, or working on my Writer's Retreat in western Kansas.
With that, I enjoy the personal relationships gained through a shared experience of a garden on the Great Plains. Despite the harsh realities of Mother Nature in our region, it certainly is a great place to call home.
My design background in landscape architecture has enabled me to understand the language of the landscape from many perspectives. One thing that is certain, proper design takes time. Projects beholden to the 10% commission salesmen and trendy sales gimmicks of the landscaper industry will suffer in quality, detail, and respect for the environment.
Please ask yourself:
Did you want to work with a Landscape Architect, or a Salesmen?
Did they offer you multiple design options?
Did they offer you artistic sketches?
Is the company active in professional networks?
Were you impressed with their portfolio?
ARE THEY PASSIONATE ABOUT DESIGN?
I welcome opportunities to travel and design. I can be found working on jobs in nine different states. I normally work from Kansas City or western Kansas. Once funding is approved, I will convert an old Bank into my Studio.
After the design has been selected, I can assist in bidding procurement, construction management, and final detailing on behalf of the client as an additional service. My approach is fluid yet meticulous.
