The Great Plains Region of the United States is experiencing a new wave of growth. A new Great Plains Garden is emerging that is unique to our challenging region, climate, and microclimate. We are uniquely blessed with opportunities as we overcome the challenges of sun, soil, and rainfall differences. When time permits, I am actively gardening, browsing weekend art festivals, tracking down large Champion Trees, or working on my Writer's Retreat in western Kansas. With that, I enjoy the personal relationships gained through a shared experience of a garden on the Great Plains. Despite the harsh realities of Mother Nature in our region, it certainly is a great place to call home.
